Yes, for cars. From 25 January 2027 you won’t need a second practical test. Lessons still build safe habits and confidence.
Until 24 January 2027: 18 months if you’re under 25 (12 with an approved course), or 6 months if you’re 25 or over (3 with a course). From 25 January 2027: 12 months under 25, 6 months for 25 and over.
Yes. Since 7 May 2026, each demerit offence adds 6 months.
